Therapies

NLP

NLP improves lives. it is a remarkable force for positive change. The practitioner uses techniques with the client to help them deal with unhelpful patterns of thought, behaviour and feelings, i.e.: anxiety, anger, resentment, unforgiveness and even patterns the client may not be aware they have. Amazing changes can take place by using just one technique so immediate benefit may gained.

NLP works on the idea that you have one brain but two minds - one conscious and the other unconscious. NLP uses techniques to aid the client to access the unconscious and gain clearer insight and so encourage more flexibility of thought, allowing solutions to problems and freedom from unhelpful feelings of discomfort and issues we would prefer not to have in our lives anymore.

Life Coaching

In life, sometimes people know what they want but don't know how to get it, or they know where they want to be but they just have no idea how to get there. Quite often people are dissatisfied and think "there must be more to life than this!" Life Coaching helps the client discover exactly what they do want and need to move forward and achieve their goals.

A Life Coach assists clients to re-assess their life, re-define their idea of a successful life, set new goals, overcome problems and challenges, change life-long habits, build confidence and self-esteem. The Life Coach does not tell or advise people what to do; they support and guide the client to find their own answers. During the sessions it is very likely NLP techniques will be used.

Reiki

‘Rei’ means the intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the universe.  It is the wisdom that comes from source which is all-knowing and understands the cause of problems and difficulties and how to heal them.

‘Ki’ is the life-force energy that flows through every living thing – plants, animals and people.

When the words are put together the meaning of Reiki is ‘universal life-force energy’ – energy guided by a subtle wisdom to balance, heal and harmonise all aspects of the person (body, mind, emotions and spirit).

The Reiki therapist channels this life energy through her hands to the recipient. Reiki strengthens the energy pathways (meridians) in our body to allow the life-force to flow in a healthy, natural way.  This accelerates the body’s own natural ability to heal physical ailments. Reiki always finds its way to those areas of the person most in need of healing – physical or emotional or both.

Therapeutic Body Massage

Therapeutic Body Massage is perfect to induce and aid relaxation and to treat many problems including muscular pain, injuries, tension and general stiffness. Therapeutic Body Massage aids circulation in the body and releases unbeneficial toxins from the muscles, internal organs and the blood. This type of body massage tends to focus on the body's physical problem areas i.e.: tight neck, stiff shoulders, headaches, upper and lower back pain, sciatica etc., while simultaneously promoting a state of calm and well-being.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

In response to physical knocks or emotional stress, the body's tissues contract and sometimes remain like that. This restricts the body's correct function. The effects may be both physical (such as back pain, headaches or digestive disorders) and emotional ( such as anxiety or depression). The therapist uses her hands to reflect back to the body the unhelpful pattern it is holding, giving the body the opportunity to release its restrictive state and return to better functioning. Cranio-Sacral Therapy is a very gentle and light "hands on" therapy over clothes. During a session clients often feel a deep sense of relaxation and can become aware of heat, tingling, pulsations or other sensations.

Magnified Healing

Magnified Healing is a high vibrational healing energy. During a healing session, in which you stay fully clothed, you can expect to feel very calm and peaceful and may feel sensations such as pulsing and heat. It's focus is on the heart and is very beneficial for help with compassion and forgiveness issues, however it is wonderful for anything - you do not even need a complaint to benefit from Magnified Healing. With this type of healing, the energy flows from the therapist's hands through the body of the client releasing imbalances. Magnified Healing helps at all levels: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual etc.

Trigger Point Therapy

A Trigger Point is simply a small contraction knot in muscle tissue.  It often feels like a pea buried deep in the muscle.  A trigger point affects a muscle by keeping it both tight and weak.  At the same time, a trigger point maintains a hard contraction on the muscle fibres that are directly connected to it.  In turn, these taut bands of muscle fibre keep constant tension on the muscle's attachments, often producing symptoms in adjacent muscles and joints.  The constant tension in the fibres of the trigger point itself restricts circulation in its immediate area.  This can perpetuate trigger points for months or even years unless some intervention occurs.

The difficulty in treating trigger points is that they typically send pain to some other area of the body.  Conventional treatment of pain is based on the assumption that the cause of pain will be found at the site of the pain but trigger points almost always send their pain elsewhere.  This is called referred pain   Pain is telling you that something is wrong and needs correction.  It is not good medicine to kill the messenger and ignore the message by taking pain killers long term.

Deep pressure is applied to the trigger points and then the client is shown how to apply this pressure themselves in between treatments or until symptoms subside.
